Kenny Ikei Memorial Seminar

The Ikei seminar focuses on graduate student health and happiness. Prior to the seminar, the students celebrate with a Halloween costume contest and then participate in a diverse array of seminar topics to help with mental health and career goals.

Fall Conference

The Department Fall Conference held annually is attended by faculty, researchers, postdocs, and grad students. This is a day long event which includes a key note speaker, scientific talks from each lab group, and a poster session.

Phil Crews Symposium: Powered by Chemistry, Strengthened by Diversity

The Crews symposium is a biennial symposium that celebrates diverse voices in chemical research, and recognizes their excellence in scientific discovery. In addition, a Crews fellowship will be presented to an outstanding undergraduate student to help them further their career in chemical research.

The Chemistry & Biochemistry Symposium is a full day event that combines the Bunnett, Fink, and Crews lectures in addition to adding a renowned speaker in the field of Physical Chemistry.

Bunnett Symposium

The Bunnett lecture series is hosted annually by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in honor of Professor Emeritus Joseph Bunnett. Established in 2001, the symposium which is held on the first Friday in May, features a formal lecture that has been presented by some of the most eminent scholars in the field of chemistry.
